Brass Weightlifting Lobster — Pen Holder and Desk Sculpture with Character

Description

The lobster has always done things differently. It moves backwards, sheds its shell to grow, and keeps going regardless. This one also lifts. Claws raised, stance locked, entirely unbothered — use the raised claws as a pen holder, or let him stand there being the most interesting thing on your desk.

In Western symbolism, the lobster represents transformation and resilience — the courage to be vulnerable in order to grow. Salvador Dalí was obsessed with them. Make of that what you will.

At 63mm long and 38g of solid brass, he’s compact enough for a desk corner, a tea tray, or a windowsill. The kind of object that invites a second look and usually gets one.

Caring for Your Brass

Brass develops a natural patina over time — a sign of age and character, not damage. To keep the original shine, wipe occasionally with a soft dry cloth. For a deeper clean, a small amount of brass polish or a paste of lemon juice and baking soda works well. Avoid prolonged moisture or harsh chemicals. The more it’s handled, the warmer its glow becomes.

Each piece is individually cast, so minor variations may occur.

All dimensions are hand-measured; slight variations may occur.

A small amount of blu-tack or double-sided tape can help it sit perfectly on your shelf.

Cast by hand in small batches, each piece carries its own subtle character.
